History
The Metropolitan Washington Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (MWPHCC) is the oldest trade association in the construction industry in the United States and was founded in 1873. The association has gone through various name changes starting out as "The Washington Association of Plumbing Contractors, Inc of the District of Columbia. It then changed to "The Washington Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of the District of Columbia," and most recently has become , "The Metropolitan Washington Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors" or MWPHCC. From it's inception the MWPHCC has been at the forefront of the plumbing industry striving to improve working conditions and the image of our industry.
